A delegation from the Jordan Karate Federation visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) to discuss arrangements for hosting the Arab and West Asia Karate Championships at the university's facilities this coming August.

The delegation was received by GJU President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli. The delegation was headed by Federation President Mr. Hassan Masoud and included Media Spokesperson Dr. Eyad Al-Mallah, Treasurer Mr. Firas Hassouna, and Mr. Mohammad Owaimer.

The two championships are scheduled to be held at the university’s sports hall from August 20 to 25, 2025, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Aya bint Faisal.

Prof. Al-Halhouli expressed pride in the accomplishments of Jordanian karate on both the local and international stages, emphasizing the university’s commitment to providing full technical and logistical support to guarantee the event’s success.

For his part, Mr. Masoud expressed his gratitude to the university administration and staff for their ongoing support of Jordanian sports, commending their initiative in hosting this significant Arab sporting event.

Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Thelal Oweis and Head of the Sports Activities Division Dr. Ziad Al-Zoubi accompanied the delegation on a tour of the sports hall to inspect the facilities and preparations.

The championships are expected to feature participants from approximately 14 Arab countries, along with prominent sports and media figures from across the region.
