The Minister of Education, H.E. Prof. Azmi Mahafzah, and the President of the German Jordanian University, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at implementing a Mental Health and Social Work Program. This step reflects the growing interest in strengthening psychological and social support within the educational environment and promoting concepts of student well-being.

Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate to develop and implement training and awareness programs targeting educators and students, contributing to the creation of a safe and supportive school environment capable of addressing various psychological and social challenges, while enhancing students’ adaptability and resilience skills.

The areas of cooperation also include the development of specialized scientific and practical content, the organization of workshops and training courses, as well as the exchange of expertise between both sides to ensure the adoption of best practices in mental health and social work within schools.

Both parties emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting national efforts aimed at improving the quality of education by addressing students’ psychological and social well-being, given its direct impact on academic achievement and overall development.

This MoU reflects the German Jordanian University’s commitment to its societal role and its dedication to leveraging its academic and research expertise to serve community issues, in cooperation with national institutions, thereby contributing to achieving sustainable impact at both the individual and societal levels.
