He emphasized the importance of promoting awareness of the architectural and engineering styles, their history, cultural context, and connection to the figures who lived in these buildings.
For his part, GJU President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli explained that the university strives to prepare an educated, culturally aware generation equipped with diverse skills and languages, capable of representing Jordan honorably and sharing its culture with the world through openness and knowledge exchange.
He added that the university continues its commitment to community service and cultural heritage preservation through various initiatives that integrate academic excellence with social responsibility.
Additionally, Prof. Mohammad Yaghan delivered a presentation on the university’s role in preserving the architectural heritage of Amman’s buildings and its projects to repurpose these structures to serve educational and cultural functions.
The visit included a tour of the school’s computer labs and library, as well as visits to Othman Bdeir House and Ibrahim Hashem House, where the Minister was briefed on the restoration and rehabilitation works carried out by the university to maintain the sites’ historical and architectural character. He also reviewed student projects for designing a logo for the Cultural and Artistic Movement Support Fund.
