The German Jordanian University (GJU) and Intellect & Debating Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on developing the skills of Jordanian youth and empowering them in several areas, foremost of which are debate skills and constructive dialogue.

The MoU, which was signed by GJU President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli and the Society President Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Fetiani, stated to develop university students’ skills and provide them with training and practical opportunities related to cultural and cognitive fields, debates, speeches, writing in both Arabic and English and to foster training and development programs for Jordanian youth in these fields.

Dr. Al-Halhouli stressed the importance of spreading the culture of debate and preserving the Arabic language among young and emerging generations, explaining the university’s readiness to embrace valuable and constructive programs in line with the mission of the adult educational institution.

From his side, Al-Fetiani indicated the importance of the educational institutions adopting their role in developing the capabilities of Jordanian youth enhancing the role of universities as beacons of science and knowledge for all spectrums of society and all age groups, praising the role of the German Jordanian University in developing the local community.

It is noteworthy that the Intellect & Debating Society is a Jordanian institution that develops the capabilities of Jordanian youth in the dialogue, mental and linguistic fields, empower them with tools for constructive dialogue and effective social participation, and provides them with the necessary skills for the labor market through innovative international and local models.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Thelal Oweis, Dean Assistant, Dr. Hani Mohsen, the President of the Debating Club, Muhammad Al-Banna, and members of the club.
