The German Jordanian University (GJU) signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding with Das Deutsche Haus and the ULC Institute in Cairo, Egypt, aimed at enhancing cooperation in German language and culture education, as well as teacher training. This agreement supports the educational process and helps build cultural bridges between Jordan and Germany through effective regional partnerships.

The memorandum includes providing a series of theoretical and practical courses designed to develop teachers’ skills, enabling them to meet labor market demands and effectively address contemporary educational challenges.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the university by Dr. Haytham Al-Thawabih, Dean of the School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS), and on behalf of the partner entities by Mr. Hassan Sharara, owner of Das Deutsche Haus, who also represents the ULC Institute and Utopia Publishing House. The signing took place in the presence of Ms. Amani Shukukani, Director of the Utopia Publishing House branch in Jordan, and Ms. Nourhan Shaaban, Director of Das Deutsche Haus in Egypt.

Dr. Al-Thawabih emphasized the importance of this partnership with specialized educational institutions for teaching the German language in Egypt, noting that this cooperation aligns with the university’s mission to connect education with the labor market and to promote cultural exchange between Jordan and Germany.

For his part, Mr. Sharara expressed his pride in the partnership with GJU, affirming that Das Deutsche Haus aims, through this agreement, to provide high-quality training programs that meet the standards accredited by the Goethe Institute and address the needs of both teachers and students.

It is noteworthy that Das Deutsche Haus is one of the largest educational institutions specializing in teaching the German language in Egypt and North Africa. Accredited by the Goethe Institute since 2015, it offers specialized training programs for teachers as well as language courses for students of all ages.
