The School of Architecture and the Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) held its annual meeting with first-year students, in the presence of Dr. Omaimah Ali, Dean of the School; academic department heads; dean assistants; student exchange coordinators; and Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, along with several members of the academic and administrative staff.
The meeting included a welcoming session for the new students and a detailed explanation of the academic study plan and advising procedures. Emphasis was placed on the importance of referring to the Student Handbook to understand students’ academic rights and responsibilities. Dr. Omaimah Ali also presented the School’s plans to hold the Annual Student Work Exhibition during the second semester.
The meeting also introduced the Dual Study Programs and practical training opportunities, in addition to the fourth academic year, which students spend at partner universities in Germany, as part of efforts to enhance both academic and professional experience on an international level.
From her side, Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, Dean of Student Affairs, presented the extracurricular activities offered by the Deanship and emphasized the importance of student participation in student elections, clubs, and various university events.
Also in attendance were Dr. Maram Twil, Eng. Tha’er Qub’a, Campus Director Mr. Osama Hanandeh, Eng. Mohammad Khaled Zaghmouri, Head of the Department of Architecture and Interior Architecture; Dr. Yazan Al-Amarat, Head of the Department of Design and Visual Communication; Eng. Leen Fakhoury, Dean Assistant for Industry Links and Dual Studies; and Eng. Tala Awadallah, Dean Assistant for Graduate Studies.
Additionally, the meeting was attended by the student exchange coordinators for the Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture, and Design and Visual Communication — Eng. Amani Malhas and Eng. Rawan Majzoub.
