The School of Nursing (SN) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, organized an awareness campaign titled “Don’t Be Fooled, It’s All Poison”, as part of the activities Commemorating World No Tobacco Day, which is observed annually in May.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the health risks associated with all forms of smoking and nicotine products, which are directly linked to sixteen types of cancer—most notably lung cancer, the second leading cause of death after heart disease.
The campaign featured a variety of awareness messages, interactive activities, and purposeful games targeting university students and staff, with the goal of delivering health information in innovative and engaging ways.
Organizing such events is considered an important step in serving the community by promoting health awareness, fostering a culture of prevention, and encouraging physical well-being. It also contributes to reducing the spread of harmful habits such as smoking, thereby positively impacting public health.
