As part of the Doing Good, Growing Strong project—implemented in partnership with the German Jordanian University (GJU), Brunel University London, and Lund University in Sweden—the Social Entrepreneurship Hub at GJU organized an impactful community workshop titled “Partner to Prosper: Turning Community Ties into Business Strength.” The session was held in collaboration with IDARE and delivered by Dr. Mohammad Makki from COSV.
This interactive workshop focused on how businesses can transform local societal challenges into opportunities for innovation and sustainable growth. Through practical exercises, participants explored strategies to reframe cultural and social dynamics as business assets, leveraging local knowledge, inclusive practices, and sustainability to create shared value and strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) alignment.
The event formed part of the closing activities of the She Rises initiative, marking a significant turning point toward long-term social impact, rather than an end.
About Doing Good, Growing Strong: The Doing Good, Growing Strong project at GJU is managed by Dr. Abdelrahman Zuraik, President’s Advisor for Innovation, Technology Transfer & Entrepreneurship, with Arch. Dana Al-Lafi as Project Coordinator. From Brunel University London, the project is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Farah Al Taji.
This project aims to build and support an inclusive, culturally rooted ecosystem to foster and strengthen social entrepreneurship in Jordan. It works to create a vibrant community of social innovators by engaging stakeholders across the sector through capacity-building, networking, and collaborative activities, laying the foundation for a sustainable social innovation ecosystem in Jordan.
