Master’s students in Spatial Planning at the German Jordanian University (GJU) presented their projects for the “Regional Planning” course in a session held at the UN-Habitat office in Jordan on June 18, 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Maram Al-Tawil.

The projects presented by the course participants — Ahmad Al-Khotabah, Ola Jaber, Omama Qatawnah, Qusai Al-Omoush, and Renad Jarad — focused on the development of Sahab City as an industrial and residential hub. Their work was based on the Multilayered Vulnerability Assessment (MVA) methodology. A number of experts and planners participated in evaluating the presentations, most notably SABE’s Dean Dr. Omaima Ali; UN-Habitat’s Program Officer and Urban Planner, Arch. Aya Hammad; UN-Habitat’s Urban Planner, Arch. Ledia Nimri; and Arch. Danah Al-Zoubi.

It is worth noting that the Master’s program in Spatial Planning has proven successful and reliable in graduating qualified professionals, among them Dima Abu Dhiab, Head of the UN-Habitat Programme in Jordan, and architect Aya Hamad.
