A group of delegates from the School of Management and Logistic Sciences visited Germany from 19th till 26th of September 2018 to attend the annual Network Meeting and visit a number of German universities. The delegation comprising the Vice-Dean of SMLS Dr. Bassam Ma’ali and the Exchange Coordinators for Management, Logisitcs and Accounting Dr. Metri Mdanat, Dr. Ismail Abu Shaika and Dr. Luai Abu Rajab were accompanied by Network Coordinator Stefanie Kirsch.

Together they visited five important partner universities, namely FH Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule Darmstadt, Hochschule Aschaffenburg, Hochschule Nürtingen-Geislingen, and Hochschule Reutlingen (ESB) to discuss the future cooperation with the German-Jordanian University.

The GJU representatives managed to increase the number of seats for SMLS’s students with FH Bielefeld who hosted the delegation on a beautiful new campus where already two GJU students started to spend their semester abroad. With HS Aschaffenburg a SAP project together with Flying Faculty and Dual studies could be discussed and an improvement of course coordination for GJU students could be achieved. The professors also established a new partnerships with HS Darmstadt-Dieburg and tried some first steps of collaboration with the renowned European Business School (ESB) at Hochschule Reutlingen. In addition joint projects and a strong interest in further exchange of staff and students with the above mentioned partner universities were set in motion.

Part of the delegation’s visit was the Network meeting at Hochschule Nürtingen-Geislingen held on 24th and 25th of September where 15 network members of GJU’s partner universities met for discussions and up-dates. Mrs. Jutta Schnell (IO) and Prof. Dirk Funck from HS Nürtingen-Geislingen hosted all participants on their campus exchanging new ideas on interdisciplinary projects and collaboration with Aqaba Logisitcs Village (ALV). Apart from that they also enabled additional meetings with other faculty members who are interested in cross-faculty collaboration with GJU’s SNREM and SABE.

Prior to the network meeting the participants visited Mercedes Benz Stuttgart where the GJU contact person for internships Mr. Harald Kienzle gave all German and Jordanian participants a test track ride and a 2 hour workshop tour complemented by presentations of two former GJU interns Ms. Jessica Hassan and Ms. Zain Qasrawi who are now working for Mercedes Benz VAN/EV in Germany.
