The German Energy Academy in Jordan organized a three-day training workshop at the German Jordanian University (GJU) entitled “Developing the Curriculum Framework for the Energy Auditor and Energy Efficiency Program.” In the presence of the Academy’s partners, the German Jordanian University, Al-Hussein Technical University, the Amman Chamber of Industry, in addition to the project implementing team from GIZ and a group of experts from the industrial sector specializing in energy efficiency, energy auditing, and renewable energy.
On the first day, Mr. Jamal Taha, the workshop facilitator, outlined the main objectives of the training, which focused on strengthening the principles of competency-based education and training, identifying industry-aligned learning outcomes that meet labor market needs, and empowering trainers to effectively perform and deliver their professional tasks.
The sessions explored the key elements of curriculum framework development, including the knowledge and skills expected from learners, the structure and content of the training modules, learning activities, assessment standards, admission requirements, and career pathways.
By the conclusion of the workshop, participants collaborated on designing detailed models and frameworks to analyze job functions and responsibilities, identify the necessary equipment and materials for each competency, and establish assessment standards and safety procedures relevant to energy efficiency, energy auditing, and electromechanical systems.
Industrial partners, including German Technology for Energy and Air Conditioning, Qawwar Energy, Ezzat Marji Group, and the Arab Company for Technical Construction, worked with the Academy’s partners to develop a nationally accredited curriculum framework and a specialized energy-auditing standard that will be implemented in future certified training programs at GJU.
