
The German Jordanian University (GJU) celebrated the graduation of a number of its international students who completed the Arabic Language and Culture Program under the patronage of Vice President Prof. Reiner Finkeldey and the representative of the German Academic Exchange Service, Mrs. Nadia Shaqir. The program aims to teach students both Modern Standard Arabic and colloquial Arabic while introducing them to Jordanian customs, traditions, and culture. It is held annually in collaboration with the School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences and the Center for Consulting and Training at the university.
During the ceremony, the Dean of Student Affairs and Program Coordinator, Dr. Thelal Owies, emphasized the importance of the program in enhancing the students' skills and shaping their personalities, so they can become ambassadors for the university and Jordan in their home countries. The ceremony was also attended by the Director of Consulting and Training Center, Mr. Osama Al-Hanandah, and the program team, who praised the significant progress the students made in learning the Arabic language.
Several participants delivered speeches expressing their happiness at completing the program, highlighting that it provided them with new experiences, including learning about Arab customs and traditions, enjoying folk songs and traditional foods, as well as visiting historical and archaeological sites in Jordan. The event also featured a showcase of the program's key stages, including literary reflections, poetry, and Arabic songs performed by the students.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the participants, who expressed their pride in their achievements, emphasizing that their experience would remain a cherished memory, and they would share what they learned about the Arabic language and culture with their home countries.
