The International Affairs Department at the German Jordanian University organized a farewell ceremony for students departing to Germany for the Winter 2025 semester. The event was attended by His Excellency the German Ambassador to Jordan, Dr. Bertram von Moltke, GJU President Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli, and the Head of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) office in Amman, Dr. Hebatallah Fathy, alongside members of the academic and administrative staff.
In his speech, Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized that this phase marks a pivotal milestone in the academic journey of the students and reflects the university’s deep commitment to preparing graduates with global competencies. He added that the upcoming journey will be rich with challenges and experiences that will shape the students’ personalities and broaden their future horizons.
Meanwhile, Prof. Rainer Winkeldey, Vice President for International Affairs, encouraged the students to actively engage with academic and cultural life in Germany, stressing that building new relationships and embracing the local culture are key factors for a successful educational experience.
Dr. Jennifer Gronau, Director of IAD, highlighted that the university will continue to provide full support to students throughout their stay in Germany, urging them to proudly represent the university and its values.
Prof. Hebatallah Fathy, Head of the DAAD Office in Amman, expressed pride in the students embarking on this distinctive academic experience in Germany, noting that the journey extends beyond academics to include acquiring diverse life and cultural skills.
Student Mohammad Al-Hassan shared his personal experience, affirming that studying in Germany was a turning point in his life and commending the continuous support provided by the university and its academic and administrative teams.
This ceremony reflects the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance academic and cultural exchange, providing students with opportunities for international educational experiences that embody the excellence GJU has pursued since its establishment.
