The Director of the Center for E-Learning and Academic Performance Improvement (CeLAPI) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub, participated in the First Conference on E-Learning and Open Educational Resources organized by Yarmouk University. The event was inaugurated under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Mohammad Khair Abu Qudais, former Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Yarmouk University’s Acting President, Dr. Mousa Rababah.
The conference was held on August 12–13, 2025, at the Conferences and Seminars Building, under the title:
"Empowering Minds and Unlocking Potential: Shaping the Future of E-Learning in the Middle East and North Africa."
It featured broad participation from experts and researchers across the Arab world to explore prospects for developing e-learning, exchange pioneering experiences, and formulate practical strategies to advance digital education.
Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub took part in conference sessions that discussed topics such as artificial intelligence in education, integrating games into interactive learning, the latest practices in digital assessment, as well as the impact of AI on the future of e-learning.
GJU’s participation in this conference affirms its commitment to promoting innovation in teaching methods, supporting the digital transformation of academic processes, and expanding collaboration with universities and educational institutions in the region. These efforts aim to enhance the exchange of expertise and the development of joint initiatives that serve students and the community.
The conference concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of investing in digital capabilities, developing e-learning infrastructure, and adopting flexible educational policies that respond to rapid technological changes—contributing to building an inclusive digital educational future in the region.
