The legal function at the German Jordanian University (GJU), operating under the direct supervision of the Presidency, provides comprehensive and high-quality legal services at both local and international levels. It offers legal advice in Arabic and English on all matters related to the University’s operations in Jordan and Germany, including the drafting, review, and interpretation of legislation, regulations, decisions, contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding, ensuring full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
In line with GJU’s mission to uphold transparent governance, administrative efficiency, and informed decision-making, the legal function supports the University’s leadership by ensuring that all institutional processes and actions are legally sound and professionally managed.
Its responsibilities include coordinating and following up on all legal requirements with the Presidency, University and School Councils, faculties, deanships, academic and administrative units, centers, committees, and the International Projects Office, in addition to GJU’s partners in Germany and Jordan.
The legal function also manages all legal interactions with national authorities such as the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, the Higher Education Council, the Higher Education Accreditation Commission, and other governmental and private entities. Through continuous oversight and proactive coordination, it ensures that GJU’s operations remain compliant, transparent, and aligned with institutional governance standards.
