Biography

Prof. Raed Mesleh has been with German Jordanian University, Amman, Jordan, since February 2016, where he is currently the dean of the school of electrical engineering and information technology and a professor in the Department of Electrical and Communication Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in 2007 from Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany. From 2007 to 2010, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Jacobs University. He was with the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia from 2010 to 2015. During that period, he held the position of department chair and the director of research excellence and intellectual property units at the deanship of scientific research. He was a visiting scholar at Boston University, the University of Edinburgh, and Herriot–Watt University. He invented spatial modulation techniques during his Ph.D., and he is the inventor of quadrature spatial modulation and trellis-coded spatial modulation. He published more than 200 journal and conference papers with an overall citation of more than 10000.

Massive MIMO communications, Beam-forming, Visible light communications (VLC), millimeter waves, femtocells, Hardware implementation, Cooperative diversity techniques, Diversity techniques and coding for fading channels, Channel estimation and equalization, OFDM and multi-carrier communication, Performance analysis over generalized fading channels, Terrestrial free-space optical (FSO) communication systems, Vehicular communications, and channel modeling.
