Biography

Prof. Dr. Ralf Roßkopf is a Professor for Law at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS), Faculty of Applied Social Sciences, Germany, since 2010. Additionally, he is visiting professor to the Germany Jordanian University (GJU), School of Applied Humanities and Languages, Amman, Jordan. Before joining academia, he had been practicing law as partner of a law office and specialiced lawyer for public law and social law.

His main expertise is in international, public and social law with a strong focus on migration law and human rights. Being affiliated with a faculty of social science, interdisciplinary collaboration is a core interest and allowed to engage also in empirical research and (international) social work science and projects.

Among others, he is editor-in-chief of the Quarterly on Refugee Problems - AWR Bulletin (QRP), Germany (ISSN: 2750-7882); President of the Association for the Study of the World Refugee Problem (AWR), Deutsche Sektion e. V., member of the Institute for Applied Social Sciences at FHWS (IFAS), Germany; member of the Scientific Committee of Sociocape, International Journal of Societies, Politics and Cultures, Italien (ISSN 2724-0940); partner of the European Center for Research and Action for Minors and Migration /ERCPAMM), Madrid, Spain; International Editorial Advisor of the Journal of Social Work in Developing Societies (JSWDS), Nigeria (ISSN 1115-3946); and member of the Board of Barbara Budrich Publisher.

Roßkopf has vast experience in HEI management, having been i. a. Vice President and Dean to both the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, Germany, and the German Jordanian University, Amman, Jordan. He was responsible for the development and management of several study programs on the bachelor and graduate level as well as for examination committees and data protection. Due to this experience, he was also engaged as consultant on the international level.
