Under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ala'a Al-Halhooli, President of the German Jordanian University, the university hosted the annual iftar (breaking of fast) for the Debate and Thought Community on the premises of the German Jordanian University. The event was organized by the Debate and Thought Foundation.
The meeting included a dialogue session with His Excellency Professor Dr. Ala'a Al-Halhooli regarding the opportunities and challenges facing Jordanian youth, as well as the prospects for employment and partnership in the field of building awareness and capacities for Jordanian youth. The university president provided an explanation to the attendees about the establishment of the German University and its vision to enhance education in Jordan, as well as to build links and partnerships between Germany and Jordan. It distinguished itself from Jordanian universities by adopting the German applied sciences model, which emphasizes the implementation of knowledge and the promotion of knowledge transfer.
Also, Dr. Thelal Owais, Dean of Student Affairs at the German Jordanian University, and Dr. Maryam Al-Baltaawi, Dean of Student Affairs at the Al-Hussein University of Technology, participated with interventions discussing the experience of Jordanian universities in debates and their role in educating and raising awareness among students.
