This year's German Teachers' Day for German teachers and prospective teachers from Jordan took place on June 7 in the German Lounge on the SABE campus of the GJU in Amman. For 13 years now, this training event has been organized in cooperation between the Goethe-Institut Amman and the German Language Center of the GJU.
In his welcoming speech, the German Ambassador emphasized the increasing importance of learning German in Jordan in the wake of increasing labor migration and the role of German teachers as bridge builders between both cultures.
The event kicked off with a keynote presentation by Anne Sass of the Goethe-Institut on the topic of competency-based digital examination formats. Afterwards, the 90 participants were offered a selection of 14 workshops on various topics of didactics and methodology of teaching German-as-a-foreign-language with speakers from Germany and from the own ranks of the two German teaching institutions.
