On Monday, February 17, 2025, the Center of Excellence for Traffic Safety, in collaboration with Sahab Municipality, organized a special event titled “Walk and Talk” / “Ride and Talk” at Sahab family park, the longest walkway in the country.
This event aimed to encourage participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle through walking and cycling while also providing an interactive platform for exchanging ideas and experiences. The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including health and environmental enthusiasts, alongside experts and specialists in traffic safety, as well as students from the German Jordanian University.
In this context, Dr. Farah Al-atrash, Director of the Center of Excellence for Traffic Safety, expressed her deep appreciation for Sahab Municipality’s leadership in sustainability efforts and its collaboration with the university. She emphasized that this partnership played a crucial role in the success of the event. She further highlighted that the initiative offers a unique experience that combines physical activity with community engagement in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere, reinforcing the importance of adopting practices that support health and safety.
Dr. Al-Atrash also noted that such initiatives help raise public awareness about the significance of walking and cycling as sustainable and healthy modes of transportation that enhance both physical and mental well-being while strengthening social bonds among different groups.
The center hopes that such events will serve as a step toward fostering a culture of walking and cycling as a way of life, contributing to the creation of a healthier and safer environment for all.
