A delegation from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt visited the German Jordanian University to strengthen academic cooperation. During the visit, an official agreement was signed to launch a new Bachelor’s program in Advanced Materials Engineering starting in October 2025, making it the second hosted program at the university after Hydrogen Engineering.

The delegation included Prof. Achim Förster, Vice President for International Affairs at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, and Dr. Monica Heitz, director of the transnational Campus GATE project.

The visit included meetings with the School of Applied Technical Sciences to prepare for the program’s launch. Preparations were also discussed for the upcoming Advanced Materials Engineering Forum, scheduled for June in Germany, which will involve participants from the Jordanian and German industrial sectors, academic institutions, and the German Jordanian University.

The delegation also met with Mr. Tobias Schwierz from Hadi Plast, a key supporter of the new program, who confirmed his participation in the upcoming forum — further strengthening the program’s industrial partnership component.

The visit also included the signing of cooperation agreements with the Baptist School and De La Salle – Frères College in Amman. Additionally, the delegation met with students from the Hydrogen Club, where a student mobility opportunity to Germany was announced for next June. The initiative aims to foster collaboration with students from the Technical University through the implementation of joint projects. The delegation also held a meeting with Mr. Hanna Zaghloul, CEO of Kawar Energy.

This visit is part of the German Jordanian University’s continuous efforts to develop innovative academic programs in partnership with leading German institutions, to bridge education with the labor market locally and internationally, and to strengthen its role as a regional leader in applied education.
