As part of the “Doing Good, Growing Strong” project, implemented by the German Jordanian University (GJU) in partnership with Brunel University London, the project team organized an event to officially launch the Doing Good Platform.
The event was organized by the project team, led by Dr. Farah Al-Taji, Principal Investigator from Brunel University London; Dr. Abdelrahman Zuraik, Co-Investigator and Project Manager at GJU; and Arch. Dana Al-Lafi, Project Coordinator at GJU.
The event was organized in collaboration with Ms. Ghufran Abu Dahyeh, an independent researcher, and the Doing Good community leaders, Eng. Ali Kattan and Ms. Shima Zein Al-Dein. The event was hosted by ZINC at the Business Park.
The event opened with an introductory session, during which attendees were given the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves, their projects and initiatives, and their work in the fields of social entrepreneurship and social impact. This session provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about each other’s work and identify potential areas for collaboration.
Following the introductory session, Ms. Ghufran Abu Dahyeh led a practical demonstration and testing session of the Doing Good Platform, introducing participants to its main features and functionalities. The project team supported attendees throughout the onboarding process, providing technical guidance and collecting feedback and recommendations for future improvements and enhancements to the platform.
The event concluded with a session led by Dr. Farah Al-Taji, who introduced the concept of Working Groups within the Doing Good Community. Participants interested in leading a working group were invited to:
Establish the working group and identify its members.
Develop a brief concept note or proposal outlining the group’s purpose, objectives, and proposed activities.
Present the concept or proposal during the next community gathering at the end of August.
As a result of the discussion, four working groups were initially identified and formed around the following areas:

Specialized / Sector-Based Working Groups
Policy Report
Platform Onboarding & Technical Support
The formation of these working groups marks an important step toward strengthening collaboration within the Doing Good Community, supporting knowledge exchange, and ensuring that the platform and community activities respond effectively to the needs and priorities of social entrepreneurs and social impact actors.
