The first cohort of nursing students at the German Jordanian University (GJU) has departed for Germany to begin the German Year, a key component of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme. The programme provides students with opportunities to gain academic and clinical experience within Germany’s higher education and healthcare systems.

The cohort comprises 16 students, who will spend the academic semester at seven partner universities: Fulda University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Bochum University of Applied Sciences, and Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences.

Following the academic semester, the students will undertake clinical training at several German hospitals, including Prosper-Hospital in Recklinghausen, RWTH Aachen University Hospital in Aachen, RoMed Klinikum in Rosenheim, St. Elisabeth Hospital of the Katholisches Klinikum Bochum, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer Hospital in Neubrandenburg.

This step reflects GJU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its academic and clinical partnerships with German institutions and provide nursing students with an educational experience that combines academic study with hands-on clinical training. The experience is designed to help students develop their professional competencies and prepare for careers in the healthcare sector.

The departure of the inaugural cohort marks an important stage in the development of GJU’s School of Nursing, reinforcing the international dimension of its academic programmes and expanding opportunities for practical learning in Germany.

We wish our students every success in their academic studies and clinical training, and hope they will be excellent ambassadors for GJU and Jordanian nursing professionals throughout their stay in Germany.
