The German Jordanian University (GJU), during the launch of the first Technology, Research, and Innovation Forum held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, announced the results of the joint research grants initiative—the first of its kind in Jordan. This initiative was launched by the Deanships of Scientific Research at GJU, Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU), and Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), in partnership with the industrial sector. The initiative aims to support applied research addressing real industrial and societal challenges.
Among the winning projects, a research project led by the Dean of the School of Nursing at GJU, Dr. Mayada Daibes, received support from the initiative. The project focuses on medical training using virtual reality technologies supported by artificial intelligence, in collaboration with Al-Istiklal Hospital.
In this context, a cooperation agreement was signed among the three universities: GJU, represented by its President Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli; JUST, headed by Prof. Khalid Al-Salem; and HTU, headed by Prof. Ismael Saleh Al-Hinti, along with Al-Istiklal Hospital, represented by its CEO Mr. Ahmed Al-Ahmad.
This partnership reflects the direction of Jordanian universities towards enhancing applied research and innovation, expanding cooperation with the health and industrial sectors, contributing to the development of advanced solutions that serve society and keep pace with the latest global developments.
