The International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA)—the first organization certifying supply chain professionals around the globe—organized the 2024 ISCEA Global Case Competition, held at regional and global levels. The German Jordanian University (GJU) was among the winners at the regional level.
Under the supervision of Dr. Luay Jum’a—an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Logistics Sciences Department at GJU—the team from GJU, comprised of students Abdelfattah Alkhlaifat, Adnan Kanaan, Ehab Al-Qawasmi, and Zaid Ibrahim, participated in the 2024 ISCEA Global Case Competition and secured first place in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. The team presented innovative solutions to the competition's case study, titled “The Importance of Supply Chain Due Diligence and Assessing Social and Environmental Impacts.”
The team excelled in addressing challenges related to sustainability and social responsibility within supply chains under the guidance of Dr. Luay Jum’a. Their outstanding performance enabled them to outperform teams from top-tier universities across the region. Dr. Jum’a stated:
“This achievement reflects the level of excellence our students strive for at GJU. It is a testament to their acquired knowledge and outstanding capabilities gained through the university in tackling global supply chain challenges.”
In addition to their regional achievement, the team has earned an exclusive opportunity to obtain free professional certifications from ISCEA, such as Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA) or Certified Professional in Logistics Management (CPLM), along with other professional certificates. These certifications will significantly enhance their employability and career prospects in the supply chain and logistics industry. The team has also been invited to attend the ISCEA Awards Ceremony in 2025, where they will celebrate their achievement alongside global industry professionals.
By achieving this remarkable milestone, the team proudly represents not only GJU but also raises the Jordanian flag on the international stage. This success showcases the capabilities of Jordanian youth in the fields of business and logistics, proving their ability to compete and excel globally. This accomplishment highlights the ambition and innovation of GJU students and serves as an inspiration for Jordanian youth to participate in similar competitions. These platforms not only contribute to skill development but also open doors to new opportunities and professional growth.
