The Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a blood donation campaign, in collaboration with the Blood Bank affiliated with the Royal Medical Services, to support patients at the Military Cancer Center, held at the university clinic, with the participation of students and members of the academic and administrative staff.

The campaign was attended by Major Baker Al-Abdallat, Captain Yahya Qadri, and a group of military ranks from the center, who emphasized the importance of sustaining such initiatives due to their significant humanitarian impact in supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.

Captain Qadri explained that the Military Cancer Center organizes between three to five blood donation campaigns weekly, entirely voluntary and without burdening the patients’ families. He added that the voluntary campaigns have contributed over the past years to covering a large portion of the center’s needs for blood units, platelets, and plasma. He also stated that expanding the scope of the campaigns this year to include universities is part of enhancing community partnership with academic institutions, noting that GJU is among the first universities to respond to this initiative. He praised the university’s cooperation and the role of its students in the success of the campaign.

This initiative comes within the framework of the social responsibility programs implemented by the university, reflecting its commitment to promoting humanitarian and voluntary work values and reinforcing the concept of community solidarity by supporting national efforts in healthcare.
