The Road Safety Center at the German Jordanian University (GJU) of Excellence participated in the final workshop of the UN Road Safety Fund project. The project focuses on reducing road fatalities and injuries in roads in Jordan by increasing the use of protective measures. The workshop discussed the project to amend the regulatory framework for seat belts, child seats, specialized training courses, and awareness campaigns.

The project was organized by the UN ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia), the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Transport, and the Road Safety Fund. The Center was one of the entities participating in this workshop.

Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, Director of the Road Safety Center of Excellence at the German Jordanian University, emphasized the importance of involving youth in road safety projects to raise awareness among the groups most vulnerable to road injuries. She also stressed the need for collective efforts to achieve a sustainable reduction in road accident fatalities.

This participation is part of the university's commitment to actively contribute to the development of national strategies and enhance cooperation between institutions and centers across the Kingdom to serve the national interest.
