Shatha Hamzeh, a student from the Department of Design and Visual Communication in the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), won Best Mascot Design for the Expo 2025 Osaka competition.

The competition was organized by the Executive Office for the Jordanian Participation in Expo, under the supervision of the Jordan Tourism Board, and hosted by HTU.

The competition, which saw participation from over 100 students from Jordanian universities, with the top 10 designs selected, aimed to enable students to participate in the Expo through designs that combine creativity, innovation, and Jordanian identity.

Shatha's design stood out for its creativity and its ability to reflect Jordanian cultural identity with an innovative vision, which led her to win the award, including a trip to Japan during Expo 2025. Her design will also be refined to better align with Japanese tastes.

This achievement reflects the high level of skills and creativity among GJU’s students and their continuous commitment to innovation and excellence in various academic and professional fields. It further strengthens the university's role in supporting and empowering its students to achieve outstanding accomplishments both locally and internationally.
