The German Jordanian University (GJU) marked a notable presence at the Jordanian Universities Short Story Competition 2026, hosted at the Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Alia Tabbaa.

GJU students distinguished themselves through literary submissions that reflected Arab youth’s awareness of contemporary challenges under the theme “The Challenges Facing Arab Youth in a Rapidly Changing World.” Student Sereen Wissam Abu Hashash secured second place for her impactful short story “Al-Humah” which impressed the judging panel with its artistic depth and its compelling portrayal of youth realities through a refined narrative style.

In a further achievement highlighting the richness of literary talent at GJU, students Saba Amawi and Marwa Al-Rawahneh were awarded the “Best Creative Texts” prize, in recognition of the aesthetic quality of their writing and their strong capacity for linguistic and philosophical innovation. This accomplishment reinforces GJU’s position as a leading institution that fosters cultural talent alongside academic excellence.
