The German Jordanian University (GJU), through its Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP), and the Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between the academic and industrial sectors and support innovation and industrial and economic growth in Jordan.
The MoU was signed on behalf of GJU by its President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and on behalf of JIEC by its Director General, Eng. Odai Al-Obeidat.
The areas of cooperation include smart cities and digital transformation, energy and sustainability, industrial innovation and technology transfer, capacity building, and applied research, in addition to developing technological solutions to industrial challenges through the use of artificial intelligence, data analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and drones.
The MoU also includes supporting sustainability and reducing emissions in the industrial sector by improving energy efficiency and developing innovative solutions, enhancing vocational training and workshops, and expanding opportunities for students to undertake practical training and graduation projects.
The MoU reflects the two parties’ efforts to strengthen Jordan’s innovation ecosystem, support technology transfer and capacity building, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
