As part of the activities of ESMES, an EU funded project through the ENI CBCMED program, the Tenth School for Girls in Aqaba wins the project’s 60,000 euro subcontract. Six schools from around the kingdom competed through project proposals for the grant. A committee from the university and the ministry of education (MoE) evaluated the submitted proposals.  

Project coordinators at the German Jordanian University (GJU), Dr. Zakariya Dalala and Dr. Osama Saadeh along with the ICU ESMES Project Manager, Ms. Giulia Scichilone, and Project National Coordinator, Eng. Sara Hamad, visited the MoE office in Aqaba to inform the school of its win.

 The project delegation was greeted by staff from the ministry office and school staff students involved in the project. It was acknowledged of the project’s role in increasing the student body and local community awareness in energy efficiency and renewable energy concepts, which is one of GJU’s mission for increase community involvement.
