On Monday 14th of May 2018, under the patronage of the president of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Manar Fayyad, the Road Safety Center of Excellence (RSCE) held an honoring ceremony for the participants in the Road safety Education in elementary schools program, which was launched in April 2018 in Alkindi School in Marka-Amman.

During the ceremony, the RSCE volunteers explained to AlKindi Elementary School students the different specializations at GJU and the possible fields of work after graduation, this was followed by a short tour to show the students the university faculties and facilities.

At the end of the ceremony, Fayyad honored Alkindi School represented by the school principle Mr. Faisal Albadaineh and the coordinators of Madrasati initiative at the same school. Also honored were the 17 volunteers from GJU and other Jordanian universities and 60 elementary school students who participated in this program.

It is worth mentioning that RSCE has launched this program in collaboration with Madrasati initiative, Royal Automobile Club Jordan, Hikmat Road Safety and Zain Jordan to reduce traffic collision fatalities and injuries among children and to create a responsible generation of drivers in the future.

 

The RSCE also aims to increase the young drivers’ sense of responsibility and awareness for vulnerable road users by implementing this program through the youth in different universities across the kingdom.
