The Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized the TEDxGJU Conference under the theme “The Art of Everyday”, held under the patronage of GJU President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and in the presence of Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, Dean of Student Affairs, along with members of the university’s academic and administrative staff and students.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Al-Halhouli welcomed the participants and attendees, emphasizing the importance of such live gatherings that bring together inspiration and creativity, encouraging young people to face challenges and transform them into opportunities for success.
He highlighted that hosting events like TEDx reflects the university’s commitment to empowering its students and providing them with the space to express their ideas and experiences in innovative and inspiring ways.
For her part, Dr. Farah Al-Atrash noted that this year’s TEDxGJU stands out for combining creative experiences from outside the university with the energy and passion of GJU students, creating a meaningful dialogue between expertise and enthusiasm.
She praised the efforts of the Deanship team and student organizers who worked with dedication and responsibility to deliver an experience that truly reflects the spirit of GJU, a university that believes in its students’ potential and empowers them to lead, innovate, and express themselves.
This year’s conference featured a lineup of inspiring speakers from diverse fields, who shared their personal experiences and success stories to encourage students to think creatively, innovate, and embrace the university’s core values of open dialogue, critical thinking, and positive change.
The speakers included Dr. Tareq Tamimi, orthopedic surgeon; Rahaf Sawalha, media professional; Anas Al-Helo, Jordanian drift champion; Layan Al-Salhi, business consultant and strategy expert; Suheil Baqaeen, visual artist; and Alaa Al-Mufleh, specialist in public policy and strategic planning. Each offered a unique perspective on the theme “The Art of Everyday” drawn from their own journeys and experiences.
