The German Jordanian University (GJU) has introduced a Master's program in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering at the School of Applied Medical Sciences (SAMS) for the first semester of 2022/2023.

The program was approved by the Higher Education Council. It combines chemical and pharmaceutical engineering in one program and intends to serve a big industry in Jordan, the region, and the world.

The President of GJU, Prof. Ala'aldeen Al- Halhouli, indicated that the German Jordanian University developed the program based on the need of the local and global market for specialized and qualified engineers in the field of pharmaceutical industries. The participants in the program will benefit from the German dimension, where they could study for an optional summer semester at one of GJU's 120 partner universities in Germany, in addition to conducting a Master's thesis in Germany and joint research supervision.

For his part, the Head of the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering Department at GJU, Dr. Ziyad Abu Al-Rub, stated that the program includes thirty-three credit hours with a thesis or non-thises track. Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in chemical and pharmaceutical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, and pharmacy can apply to this new and unique program.
