The German Jordanian University organized a professional dialogue session under the project, Empowering Jordanian Candidates for the International Labour Market (EJIM), in partnership with the Centers for Migration and Development (ZME) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), with the participation of 30 young candidates and several representatives from the private sector.

The session aimed to enhance participants’ readiness for the international labour market by directly connecting them with local and regional companies and opening professional communication channels that enable them to better understand current and future labour market requirements and skills.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub, the project’s lead researcher, who emphasized that the initiative represents an integrated pathway starting from assessment and selection, passing through targeted training, and leading to direct engagement with employers, ensuring alignment between participants’ skills and market needs.

He added that the objective of this event is to provide companies with the opportunity to explore the outcomes of EJIM, meet the participating candidates, better understand emerging skill needs, and begin building meaningful collaborations that may evolve into training opportunities, joint initiatives, and long-term partnerships.

The session featured interactive presentations delivered by several participating companies. VS Aviation presented its vision in the aviation sector, calling for the development of academic pathways by integrating aviation specializations within mechanical engineering and mechatronics to meet market needs.

Similarly, Orange Jordan, through the Orange Academy, addressed challenges related to the “skills gap,” emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and adaptation to rapid developments in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

In the same context, ITG presented its “Injaz” platform and its role in supporting job seekers in the technology sector, while Petra Engineering Industries Co. highlighted the requirements of working in its sector, noting the high level of competition and the need for advanced skills in managing large-scale projects.

The session also included one-on-one meetings between participants and company representatives, during which they discussed potential training and employment opportunities and ways to further develop skills in line with labour market requirements.

Participants emphasized at the conclusion of the event the importance of such engagements in strengthening professional confidence and clarifying international labour market expectations, while company representatives stressed that direct engagement with young talent helps build more effective and sustainable recruitment channels.

The session concluded with an emphasis on the fact that linking talent with career guidance and effective partnerships represents a key step toward enhancing the presence of Jordanian youth in the international labour market.
