GJU Participates in the Afforestation Initiative of the New Mount Nebo Park.

The Community Service Club of the Deanship of Student Affairs at the German Jordanian University, and in cooperation with the Greater Madaba Municipality, participated in the tree planting initiative in the new Mount Nebo Park to help make the area green again, improve the environment, increase vegetation, encourage concern for the environment, and raise awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources.

During the initiative, (300) trees of almond, eucalyptus, and casuarina were planted to improve soil quality, reduce desertification, provide sustainable natural resources for plant life and to be an inspiring model for the local community and other government agencies to invest in developing resources and preserving the environment in the future.

It is noteworthy that Mount Nebo is considered one of the most prominent natural areas in Madaba, but it has been suffering from a lack of vegetation and the deterioration of its environment due to environmental factors and human activities.

Through this initiative, the participating parties will contribute to reviving the area and make it a preferred tourist destination for visitors and locals alike.
