The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli,, participated in the graduation ceremony of the first batch of graduates of the German Energy Academy in Jordan, which was held under the patronage of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh A. Al-Kharabsheh and the participation of the representative of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Jordan, First Secretary Ms. Christine Knüpfer. The ceremony was attended by the Academy partners and different private and public entities in the energy sector in Jordan.
The project coordinator and faculty member in the School of Natural Resources and its Management (SNREM) at GJU, Dr. Aiman Al-Batayneh, stated that all participants in the Energy Efficiency Course offered by GJU have undergone the exam of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce and passed it successfully. He stressed the importance of this achievement in opening many opportunities for graduates, including work in the German market as certified engineers and technicians in the field of energy efficiency.
For her part, the graduate of the Energy Efficiency Course, Engineer Arwa Abu Kashif, thanked the trainers of the course, indicating the importance of its subjects, especially the practical side, and the field visits to conduct an energy audit and methods of analysis and preparation of the energy audit report, which she considered an addition to her career and professional skills.
GJU is a founding partner in the Energy Academy project, which aims to support the Jordanian-German Energy Partnership - commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and implemented in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and managed by the German Institute for International Cooperation (GIZ).
It is worth noting that the project has several partners in addition to the German Jordanian University, namely Al-Hussein Technical University, the Amman Chamber of Industry, the Electrical Training Center of the National Electric Power Company, the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the German Association for Solar Energy, the German Neuversti and the Ideas to Energy organization.
