The German Jordanian University (GJU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KOUN Drone Manufacturing Company, aimed at strengthening cooperation in research and development, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as developing technological solutions in drones, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
The MoU was signed on behalf of GJU by its President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and on behalf of Kaun by Christian Samir and Khairy Saleh.
The MoU provides for cooperation in developing and implementing joint research and development projects, as well as developing applied solutions in drones, autonomous logistics, artificial intelligence, robotics, smart systems, control systems, and sensor technology. It also covers software and hardware development, prototyping, and feasibility studies.
Areas of cooperation also include providing GJU students with practical training opportunities, supporting graduation projects, and organizing field visits, specialized events, and workshops. The two sides also agreed to explore the establishment of a joint research and development laboratory for the company on the GJU campus, while leveraging the university’s research and innovation ecosystem, particularly the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP), the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), and its specialized laboratories and centers.
The signing of the MoU reflects GJU’s efforts to strengthen its partnerships with the industrial and technology sectors and to connect applied education and scientific research with labor market needs, supporting the development of knowledge- and innovation-driven applied solutions and projects.
