The German Jordanian University (GJU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Stiftungsklinikum PROSELIS gGmbH in Germany to provide clinical training opportunities for students of the School of Nursing at Prosper-Hospital in Recklinghausen, Germany, as part of the German Year. The agreement aims to enhance students’ practical experience and develop their skills in healthcare.
The MoU was signed on behalf of GJU by its President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and on behalf of Stiftungsklinikum PROSELIS gGmbH by Mr. André Sonnentag, Chairman of the Management Board; Prof. Wolfgang Raab, Chief Medical Officer; and Mr. Frank Huisman, Head of Nursing.
Under the MoU, the hospital will receive five students annually for a period of five to six months, comprising 800 to 960 hours of training. The programme includes practical training and clinical supervision, and students will receive certificates upon completion. It aims to equip students with practical experience aligned with German healthcare standards and strengthen their professional and clinical competencies.
GJU will be responsible for preparing students before their departure, coordinating with the hospital and Bochum University of Applied Sciences, and following up on matters related to the implementation of the training programme.
This cooperation is part of GJU’s efforts to expand its network of partnerships with German healthcare institutions, enhance practical training opportunities for its students, and link academic knowledge with practical application, supporting the preparation of qualified nursing professionals capable of meeting the needs of the healthcare sector.
