Students from the Visual Design and Communication Department at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) achieved a notable accomplishment by winning three awards at the Arab StarPack Student Competition, reaffirming their academic excellence and creative innovation in packaging design.
The competition results saw Zaid Widyan receive First Prize in the Structural Packaging category, while Salin Radaideh earned Second Prize in the Save the Food category. Farah Shihab was awarded Third Prize in the Structural Packaging category.
Course instructor Eng. Rawan Majthoub stated that this achievement reflects SABE’s sustained commitment to supporting applied creativity and innovation. She noted that students of visual design and communication have consistently achieved outstanding results in this competition since 2017, highlighting the continuity of academic excellence and strengthening GJU’s presence in specialized regional forums.
The Arab StarPack Competition is regarded as one of the region’s leading platforms for showcasing excellence in packaging design. This year’s edition witnessed strong competition, with 111 students from five Jordanian universities participating, alongside 255 students from across the Arab world, underscoring the scale of the challenge and the significance of the achievement attained by GJU students.
