The School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS) at the German Jordanian University organized an orientation and open dialogue session on November 12, 2025, welcoming new and current students from the BA in German and English for Business and Communication (GEBC) and the BA in Translation (TRA).
Dean Prof. Dr. Haytham Althawabih opened the session by emphasizing the school’s commitment to strengthening community spirit and academic engagement. Dr. Farah AlAtrash, Dean of Student Affairs, introduced the various services, activities, and opportunities offered by the Deanship of Student Affairs.
Dr. Bassmah AlTaher provided an overview of the study plans, academic advising system, and BA thesis requirements, encouraging students to take responsibility for their academic journey. Mr. Osama Salaita highlighted the Field Training and Dual Studies pathways, while Dr. Oliver Ritter presented available Translation Scholarships.
Mrs. Mariam Abu Hussein discussed the German Year, outlining its cultural and academic benefits, and Prof. Dr. Gordon Mitchell concluded the event with motivational insights on pursuing higher studies and achieving academic goals.
The session wrapped up with an open discussion, reflecting the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting students and fostering an interactive and inclusive learning environment.
