The School of Applied Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS) organized the Creative Writing Competition 2025, held under the theme "Culture and Heritage," and supported by the University of Montana and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State.
As part of the preparations for the competition, a series of creative writing workshops were held in the weeks leading up to the event. These workshops focused on American Native Literature and aimed to provide students with an opportunity to engage with literary texts that explore themes of identity, resilience, and cultural belonging. The sessions contributed to enhancing students' ability to express their personal experiences and connect them to broader concepts related to heritage and cultural diversity.
During the closing ceremony, the winning students were honored: Malak Alrawahneh received the Best Short Story award, while Abdelrahman Almatarneh won the award for Best Poem.
