As part of its community outreach program implemented by the Faculty of Nursing at the German Jordanian University (GJU) in collaboration with secondary schools, the school organized an introductory visit to Noor Al-Qabas School in Zarqa Governorate, which hosts approximately 4,000 students, including nearly 800 secondary school students.
The visiting delegation was received by the school principal, Dr. Maher Salameh, and the deputy principal, Dr. Thuraya Salameh. SN delegation included the Head of the Nursing Department, Dr. Mohammad Al-Saadi, SN member Dr. Hedaya Hina, as well as two students from the faculty, Sohaib Youssef and Wissam Al-Jawabra.
The visit focused on introducing the Bachelor of Nursing program, its admission requirements, and its learning outcomes, while also highlighting the “Germany Year” component and the existing academic agreements with partner German institutions. The program also included a presentation by the two students on their academic experience at the faculty. In addition, the visiting school students were given the opportunity to ask questions about university studies and the nursing profession.
The visit concluded with two practical sessions delivered by nursing students. The first addressed the basic skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), while the second introduced foundational German language expressions.
This visit is part of a series of school visits organized by SN to secondary schools across the governorates, aimed at familiarizing students with available academic options in the field of nursing and supporting them in making informed decisions when choosing their university major.
