Representing the Minister of Labor, the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Dr. Abdul Halim Doujan, patronized the launch of the 15th Career Fair at German Jordanian University (GJU), held under the theme “Unleashing Jordan’s Finest Talents.” The event, held in conjunction with “Companies Day,” was organized by the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), with the participation of more than 70 local, regional, German, and international companies.

Dr. Doujan emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors and academic institutions to empower Jordanian youth and enhance their readiness for the labor market. He stressed the Ministry of Labor’s support for initiatives that create new opportunities for graduates and connect them directly with employers, particularly in the fields of technology and the digital economy.

He also highlighted the importance of promoting the culture of vocational and technical work and improving the efficiency of national human resources, contributing to reducing unemployment rates and expanding competitiveness locally and internationally.

For his part, the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, affirmed that innovation and youth constitute a fundamental pillar for developing national industry. He noted that the accelerating changes in the labor market, particularly with the rise of artificial intelligence and automation, require modern skills and an entrepreneurial mindset capable of adaptation.

He added that excellence is no longer based solely on academic knowledge, but also on innovation, flexibility, and keeping pace with technological advancements.

Al-Halhouli explained that the university is committed to supporting the Economic Modernization Vision by strengthening international partnerships and enhancing the competitiveness of Jordanian talents. He emphasized that young people possess tremendous potential and that innovation has become a necessity, highlighting the importance of integration between universities and the public and private sectors to create quality opportunities.

He also pointed out that the university established DI-TECH to reinforce this direction and align educational outcomes with market needs.

Meanwhile, the Dean of DI-TECH, Dr. Fadwa Dababneh, stated that the fair reflects the university’s identity as an applied educational institution that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience. She noted that the deanship’s role extends to building effective partnerships with the industrial sector through entrepreneurship programs, industrial relations, and alumni affairs.

She explained that the university’s students possess high competence and strong readiness to engage in the labor market, supported by figures reflecting the success of this model, with the graduate employment rate reaching 92%, while 32% of graduates secured jobs before graduation.

The event also featured the participation of several leading companies and institutions, in addition to introductory sessions and professional networking opportunities, allowing students to explore employment and training opportunities as well as labor market requirements.

A number of strategic partners and sponsors were also honored, including Arab Bank, Dar Al-Handasah, Extensya, PwC, and Maaden Company.

In parallel with the exhibition, the “Companies Day” for the Dual Studies Program was also held as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with the industrial sector and expand opportunities for practical training and qualification. Representatives of several companies met with students interested in joining the program and learning more about its opportunities and applied pathways.
