Amman- 20 November 2021

The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, met the CEO, Chairman, Mr. Nabih Azzam, and Chief Business Development Officer, Mr. Laith Azzam of Nabih E. Azzam & Partners (NEA), in the presence of Director of the Consultation and Training Center (CTC), Mr. Abdul Hakeem Arbiyyat and the coordinator of the “Professional Diploma of Quantity Surveying” program, Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, from the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) to discuss promoting cooperation between GJU and NEA.

Attendees discussed the “Professional Diploma of Quantity Surveying” (PDQS) training program, offered by GJU through SABE and CTC in cooperation with NEA. The diploma aims at providing the local and international labor market with qualified engineers and surveyors in the fields of quantity surveying, engineering contracts management and construction costs management.

PDQS program reflects GJU’s vision of parallel theoretical and practical education, through relevant field visits where the trainees can apply the scientific and theoretical knowledge they gained through lectures into consultancy practice perception.

The two sides agreed on renewing the MoU signed between GJU and NEA in 2018 concerning PDQS, since the program has accomplished its main goal in graduating two batches of qualified and well-trained quantity surveyors. They agreed on cooperating in other fields, and on holding new joint training programs with the objective of disseminating awareness of the significance of Quantity Surveying as a scientific and technical profession through GJU students.
