The Applied Humanities and Languages School (SAHL), in cooperation with the Consultation and Training Center (CTC) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), virtually celebrated the 9th batch graduation of 14 German students who participated in the Arabic Language and Culture Program (ALC) in the presence of the President of GJU Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Ralf Roßkopf, Director of the DAAD Regional Office Amman, Benjamin Schmäling, Program Coordinator, Dr. Thelal Oweis, faculty members, and administrators.

Dr. Al-Halhouli congratulated the students, thanked all the participants, and the teams for their patience and efforts during these difficult times with the increasing cases of covid 19, praising the DAAD’s support who initiated the program since its establishment by the German Jordanian University (GJU) in 2014.

He also hoped that the graduates intensive learning and exposure to Jordanian institutions, historical sites, and people during the last semester had increased their awareness and interest in the Arabic culture.

The ceremony included speeches by the students where they presented their skills in the Arabic language and reflected their experience and knowledge with Arab customs and traditions during their stay in Jordan.

The ALC program main objective is to organize intensive Arabic courses during the autumn terms focusing on Arabic as a foreign language, in particular, and the Arab culture in general.
