The Department of Design and Visual Communication at the School of Architecture and the Built Environment at the German Jordanian University (GJU) recently welcomed renowned film editor Laith Majali, a member of the Editors Guild of Los Angeles with extensive experience in the film industry. This initiative reflects the university’s dedication to enriching students’ professional knowledge alongside their academic education.

Majali has contributed to several high-profile international and local films, including the Oscar-nominated Theeb, Captain Abu Raed—his cinematic debut, Mosul, Hollywood’s first Arabic-language film, and the Saudi film The Camel, currently streaming on Netflix, as well as numerous documentaries.

During his visit, Majali shared valuable insights into film editing, sparking dynamic discussions with students that enhanced both their academic and professional understanding.
