The German Language Center (GLC) at the German Jordanian University hosted an award ceremony on October 10, 2024, to honor 50 student teaching assistants for their exceptional support during the recent German pre-course. This intensive program, held from September 8 to October 3, welcomed 900 freshmen eager to learn the German language.
The student assistants provided essential guidance on balancing language studies with their academic responsibilities. They also helped newcomers navigate university life, highlighted by a communal welcome breakfast that fostered connections among students as well as a campus tour.
During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were awarded to the student coordinators and volunteers, acknowledging their significant contributions to the pre-course's success. GLC director Jacqueline Rogler, along with German I coordinator Silvie Zeller and lecturer Basil Alabdallah, presented the awards, emphasizing the impact these students had on enhancing the overall experience for new learners.
This event highlighted the GLC's dedication to fostering a collaborative and supportive learning atmosphere, underscoring the essential partnership between students and faculty in achieving language proficiency and cultural understanding.
