
The German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with the Public Security Directorate / Madaba Civil Defense Directorate, celebrated World Civil Defense Day. The event was attended by GJU's Vice President, Prof. Malek Alsharairi, the Deputy Director of Madaba Civil Defense, Lt. Col. Ibrahim Al-Atoum, and several civil defense personnel.
During the ceremony, Pro. Alsharairi expressed his gratitude to the Public Security and Civil Defense personnel for their dedication and continuous efforts in serving the nation and citizens, as well as their swift response in emergency situations. He emphasized GJU’s commitment to supporting such events due to their vital role in raising awareness about civil defense and the importance of preparedness in handling incidents.
For his part, Lt. Col. Al-Atoum expressed his pride in cooperating with GJU, highlighting the significance of the exhibition in spreading awareness about civil defense and its mechanisms in rescue and firefighting operations. He also thanked GJU for hosting the event, reaffirming the directorate’s commitment to providing the best services to citizens.
The exhibition featured a detailed display of the latest equipment, tools, vehicles, and mechanisms used in rescue, first aid, and firefighting operations, in addition to techniques for rescuing individuals suffering from suffocation and fractures. Moreover, Civil Defense paramedics provided blood pressure and diabetes tests for GJU students and staff.
