The German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in the events of the Global Biking Initiative – GBI Europe 2025, held in Germany and several European countries, with the involvement of hundreds of cyclists from around the world. The participation comes as part of the university’s support for sustainability, active transportation, and charitable work.

Representing the university in this initiative was Prof. Aiman Al-Sharea, Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences (SATS), where the event began in Venice, Italy, passing through Slovenia and Austria, and concluding in Salzburg. The experience spanned over 660 kilometers across seven days.

This annually held initiative aims to promote the values of physical and environmental health, global cultural cooperation, and fundraising for charitable projects. Volunteers and cyclists from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds participate in international teams led by experienced team leaders, contributing to building bridges of cross-border communication and understanding.

Dr. Al-Sharea emphasized that his participation represented the university and reflected its ongoing commitment to engage in global initiatives with humanitarian and developmental dimensions. He also highlighted the importance of the initiative in strengthening team spirit and collaborative work, in addition to its role in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals that the university strives to achieve on multiple levels.
